Gary and Rebecca met while showing cattle in the late 1980's. After graduating from MI State University (where Gary competed on both the Livestock and Meats Judging Teams) and Ferris State University (where Rebecca majored in Opticianry); they were married and continued to show cattle. Gary was President of the Maine-Anjou Association of MI for 3 years, and managed their Beef Expo sale for many years. In their last 5 years their 25 cow herd produced 72 Grand or Reserve Champions. Time to start another endeavor!
When Justine (1TNL) and Amelia (2TNL) were old enough to start 4-H, it became apparent that their interest in Boer goats would override any inclination to show cattle. In an effort to foster a family project, the decision was made to sell cows and buy goats. We literally travelled the country to dispersal sales, to buy the best goats that were offered for sale. A couple years later, we were rewarded with breeding the 2012 ABGA National Champion Yearling buck. A special thanks to our good friend and mentor Cindy Westfall for her purchase of 3/4 interest in 2TNL Go Dog Go, and her guidance in getting him to the winner's backdrop.
As Stockmen, we are extremely thankful to have had 8 National/Major Show Champions, of 4 different breeds, and 2 species walk our pastures. As we venture into the show wether business, I am confident that we will be having fun.
